Football is a great way to build confidence in your toddler. Read on to how it will help.
Football is a great way to get your toddler active. Participating in football will help them to develop a love of physical activity that will stay with them throughout their lives. It is also great for their mental health, helping them to develop emotionally. Football will also help your toddler to build their confidence and, within this article, we will look at how it helps build their overall confidence and the football confidence for toddlers.
Mastering New Skills
Learning new football skills as they train will help them to feel a sense of accomplishment and achievement. Each new skill learnt and each small victory will help your toddler’s confidence to grow.
Overcoming Challenges And Setbacks
Football, like other sports and life in general, will have challenges. There will be some skills your toddler does not master as quickly as others. Attending football classes will help them to learn how to face these challenges and how to learn from them.
It will help them to see that failure is not the end of the world as they can try again, improve and go on to succeed. This will help with their football and with life as a whole.
Encouraging Social Skills And Teamwork
Even though, within our football classes, your toddler will start off just working alone, with the help of you and the coach, football is ultimately a team sport. As they progress with us, they will begin working in pairs and small groups with the other children. This is a really important part of football training as it helps them to build social skills, encourage communication, develop empathy and build strong relationships.
Developing relationships and friendships with other children will help to build their confidence.
Physical Fitness
By attending football classes regularly, your toddler will develop their physical fitness. They will develop their motor skills and their cognitive skills. They will be stronger, more coordinated and more agile.
This will help them to feel confident and it will help them to develop a positive attitude towards their bodies. Children who have high levels of physical competence tend to have higher levels of self confidence. The sense of achievement from mastering a new skill or technique further boosts their confidence, making them feel proud of what their body can do.
Building Emotional Regulation
Football will help your toddler to learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. There is a lot to learn and some of it can be challenging. Your toddler will feel joy and excitement whilst at football class but they may likely feel frustrated or upset sometimes.
By attending football classes, they will learn about what makes them feel certain emotions and why they feel them. This will help them to learn how to regulate their emotions which will help to build their confidence.
Developing A Positive Mindset
Football will help your toddler to develop a positive mindset. Through the help of their coach and you, they will be able to see that they are able to acquire certain skills, even ones that they find challenging in the beginning.
You can also help by emphasising that effort, determination, trying their best and teamwork are all more important than winning or being great at something straight away. This will help your toddler to develop a positive mindset which will help to build their confidence.
