I always had a passion and love for football. I used to play and then found out I wanted to go into coaching as my full-time job. I wanted to ‘love what you do’ and the SOCATOTS franchise was perfect for that.

I found out about SOCATOTS and Brazilian Soccer Schools searching online and then came to watch a class of SOCATOTS and Brazilian Soccer Schools and fell in love with it after seeing it for the first time. I looked into the franchising option and decided to go with it.

They come every week, we see development week on week and suddenly in a few months they’re making great strides in their physical development, their balance, their coordination, their agility and also their football skills, their control of the football and love for the football.

With the franchise, everything’s there for you to grow a business. You don’t need to think about ‘I need to get this in’, everything is there as a whole package. You come into a franchise, you buy into this amazing product.

My position now is head coach at SOCATOTS. I love giving people all the knowledge I’ve gained over all my 7-7.5 years doing this. My ultimate goal is to impact children, to impact children in football. My passion is in football.

I wanted to be the person in charge, I wanted to run my own business and I wanted to be in charge of my dreams. If you’ve got a passion for it, there’s no reason you won’t succeed as long as you’re willing to get to the end goal: you’ve got to put in the hard graft to get there.

I made the decision to follow the passion I had for football and the desire to help children, especially early years children, in their development. I started as the head coach of SOCATOTS Leicestershire in January 2020.

The last 4 months of sessions has seen us grow into offering sessions across 6 days and seeing up to 150 children a week regularly. We are now in a position to take on new coaches and offer our sessions to even more children.

The last 18 months have been difficult as a business owner but knowing our sessions were never too far away from big high fives with our SOCATOTS and lots of smiles kept me going. The children and parents make our sessions what they are alongside our amazing SOCATOTS session content.

I wanted to help children in football development. The question that always used to nag me was ‘Why do players in Brazil always seem to have this more enjoyable approach to the game – the flair, the fluidity, the technique?’

I acquired the rights to Jersey and the Channel Islands in around 2000. I’ve met lots of people in the game who have advised  and endorsed the benefits of the training specifically with young players. You believe in them initially and the more they shine, the more they believe in themselves. It’s a team effort in terms of their growth.

I’ve seen the power of the programme come through on the mental side, the tactical side, the physical development. It’s given me the appetite to improve on my first generation with the next generation.
